Decorative Shrouds are pieces that are installed on the top of several chimneys in the San Diego Area. Unfortunately, they are a proven fire hazard. We always recommend removing the shroud before using the chimney again.

Crown Repair

The crown of the chimney, as expected, is at the top of the chimney. When there are cracks on the crown, the result is a leaky chimney. The extent of the repair depends on the amount of damage to the crown.

Refractory Panel Replacement

In pre-fabricated chimneys the refractory panels are the parts that line the firebox. Over time and with heavy usage these panels can crack. Once the cracks grow to a certain size, the panels need to be replaced.
